Dog Dental Stage One. (Deposit Required Only) (Afterpay & Vetpay Available)
The purchase of this product online is for the deposit amount only. The total overall cost is minimum $887.65 for the Stage One Dental for a dog under 10kgs. The remaining amount is payable on the day in-clinic. We do have Afterpay and Vetpay available in-clinic. We do not run accounts.
Upon payment of the deposit of this service you will be contacted by staff to arrange your dog’s dental.
A Stage One Dental includes: Intra-Oral Dental Radiography, plaque and tartar removal, cleaning and polishing.
You dog’s teeth will be assessed during a Stage One Dental to determine if any teeth require extraction. Extractions, in many cases, cannot be determined until after plaque and tartar is removed, especially if there are significant amounts built up, and x-rays are done.
Extractions are not routinely done during a Stage One Dental unless damage to the tooth is so significant it would be contra-indicative to leave the tooth in place. If any extractions are required they are done on a separate day. This also helps reduce time under anaesthetic for your dog and helps reduce costs to you.
If an extraction is required on the day, then you will be contacted as this involves extra costs payable on the day.
You dog will be at our clinic most of the day. In many cases, after a Stage One Dental, dogs can return to their regular diet. A staff member may discuss with you when you pick your dog up ways to improve your dog’s dental hygiene to help reduce future costs to you.

All patients coming in for surgery must have been seen a Melbourne Dog Clinic Veterinarian before any surgery is performed. If you are a new client with a dog that has not been seen by one of our Veterinarians before then a consult must be booked before the Dental Surgery. This consult can be booked on the same day as the surgery and normally would incur a $110 fee. We require new dogs to have this consult with on of our Veterinarians to ensure they are in good health prior to undergoing anaesthetics. We will also require your dog’s history, which we are happy to chase up for you.
Stage One Dentals range from $887.65 to $990.95 depending on the dog’s weight. Please inquire to find out actual costs and be provided an estimate.
